Sail and lobster boats pass by on their way in and out of Rockport Harbor, called America's most beautiful harbor by Charles Kerault, and made famous by the movie of the true story of Andre the Seal.
The grounds of Rose Cottage are a mixture of hardwood forest, natural undergrowth with wild roses, lawns and lovely rock gardens. There are slate patios with Adirondak chairs, and a lawn with a hammock under the apple tree. On the lawn is the Summer House, from which to enjoy the views in screened comfort, with fireplace, wicker furniture and music.
